Who needs that fancy shmancy upper class auditorium? I got one right here, with my very own self-made performer! With 24 built-in dances, plus some other arts like swordplay and acting, I’ll save SO much on trips to the surface! I’m a fucking genius! Now if only I could make my job less boring too…

I’ve figured it out. All the parts are already in place! The entertainment system operates with the help of magically enchanted strings that control the dancer’s movement, the music, everything, based on a set of reactive and adaptive instructions. All I have to do is add a sensor to detect what’s being sent up, then signal some strings to tell a puppet what to report to the Cognitia. If this works as planned, I’ll have all the free time in the world to myself!

This is day 1 of activating the automatic worker. After 2 months of testing I’m finally confident enough to put it to actual use, and it’s working flawlessly. As I’m writing, the puppet is sitting at my desk and writing out an audit.

To be honest, I was just about ready to give up hope, since a lot of the reports were completely unusable. But after the last round of changes the system’s accuracy drastically improved, and continued growing until its reports were indistinguishable from mine. I suppose nothing can stump me for long, ha!

Day 4 after activation. The system’s still working, and I haven’t received any errors or queries from the Cognitia. I’m honestly amazed by my own creation.

Something I hadn’t considered is that although I need to sleep and eat, my puppet can sit at that desk all day and night to work. So while I’m doing nothing, the money’s still rolling in. Maybe I can even stay a week or longer up on the surface..?

It’s been a while since I’ve been down here. While the system has been working in my place, I’ve been on a “business trip” to the surface. I basically have unlimited income, so I could really appreciate the high class lifestyle. Made some big friends up here, even got myself a lady! And I must say, my little puppet down there isn’t half bad, but it really can’t compare to the real deal, the big stage.

Anyways, I’m back down here for hopefully the last time ever. The puppet at the desk seems to have broken down suddenly, so I gotta sub in while I order another one from the Cognitia. While I’m at it, I’ll upgrade the system to automatically order new puppets to replace the old ones. I’ll just take a nap while the strings do their thing, and when I wake up I’m outta there.

(There is a bloody message written on the desk underneath the book.) IT WONT STOP
